These top-quality Eyelets are 5.5mm (1/4in approx.) in diameter and there are 12 sets in the pack. They are rustproof and have a shiny silver coloured finish. A handy tool for inserting them is also included in the pack with easy-to-follow instructions. Eyelets are ideal for making a neat ‘finished’ hole as they enclose the raw fabric edges. This size is perfect for attaching to cotton fabric when making gift tags or for threading narrow cord or ribbon through.

HOW TO INSERT AN EYELET
1.     The eyelets have two pieces: the main section which is barrel shaped with a shank and the flatter washer section. These fit together with the fabric between them.
2.     Start by marking the centre of where you want the eyelet to be on the right side of the fabric with a small dot or cross. 
3.     Make a small hole at this mark which you can do with a punch or a tiny snipped cross using small, sharp scissors or a seam ripper. Start by making a small hole as you can always make it larger later if the shank doesn’t fit through easily.
4.     Now push the main shank section of the eyelet through the hole from the right side of the fabric to the wrong side. It should be snug but not stretching. the fabric out of shape. 
5.     With the fabric right side down, place the washer section of the eyelet on top, over the shank. The rounded curved side of the washer section should be uppermost.
6.     Using the tool that comes with the eyelets, you can hammer the two parts together. The instructions on the back of the packaging show exactly how to do this.
